Bird Success

It was a cold morning and the bird feeders were full of seed.  They were everywhere!  On cold mornings they are always hungry!  I decided that it would be a great chance to practice taking pictures of birds.  And the good thing is:  They actually came out pretty good!!  :) I got to use my mom's camera and her nice lens.  Here are some:

Cardinals:
 What a mouthful!

These are neat "male and female" shots.

Pretty female cardinal. :)

This male has decided that the feeder is HIS.
Notice how the entire feeder is leaning.  :)

Doesn't she look fluffy?  :D

Mourning Doves:

These creatures are the easiest things to photograph because they have pea-sized(or smaller) brains.  You can pretty much get within two feet of them before they decided to actually take flight.
:)  One of them is blinking.

Right now in the GBBC the Northern Cardinal has made 1st place for most frequently reported species with the Mourning Dove at a close second.
More pictures later!!  :)

Random Photos

I mentioned that I was going to take a walk outside the other day... these are the fruits of my labor!  :D  And it was especially neat because I got to use my Mom's camera, which is fancier than mine.  :) I was mainly just practicing with it because I'm going to be using it to take all my bird pictures.  Sadly, my little camera can't handle pictures with birds.  :(  I know.  Kinda pathetic.

These seeds have already popped open.  They are from our crape myrtle.

Just random grasses..... not quite sure exactly what *kind* of grass they are.....
OH!!  I was finally able to get a DANDELION!!!!  It never comes out right on my camera...
But on my mom's camera?  It couldn't be BETTER!!!!  *sinks in chair*

My little sister.  :)  She was waiting until I had finished taking a  picture of the
dandelion so that she could pick it.

I know.  I said that  I wouldn't be taking any more pictures of these addicting berries!!!! But truly... they do have a perfect roundness about them.  And they are such a nice shade of blue.  :)
Does anyone have any clue as to what they are?  I can't find them anywhere!
What did I learn from this post?
That I need to start saving for a nice....black... expensive looking camera....

A Little Bit of Everything..

So many things are going on right now I really haven't been blogging that much!  :) I'll catch you up on a few things:
The Garden:
We have been planing for a while and this year we are going to start a big garden.  Sometime in the future we will be getting a large dump-truck load of wood-chips for our garden. I'll have pictures through out the entire process, I'm sure!!!!  We are also getting chickens!!!  I'm so excited!!!  I've wanted chickens for SOOO long!!   We will receive them in April.

Photography/blog:
I will be challenging myself to take more bird pictures.  I've never really focused on this.  It should be interesting....  :)  If ANY of them come out then I will put them on this blog.  But I might be a total failure at "birding".  :D  I'll just have to see.
Also, I might be changing the blog around a bit so it looks more like "spring" and so it's all pretty for my spring challenge.  Therefore, the poll on my sidebar.  Please vote.  :)

Random thoughts:
It is such a beautiful day outside!!  Truly.... a perfect temperature has been reached, along with a perfect combination of sun and clouds, breeze and calmness.  It is so beautiful that I think I shall go outside with my camera and see if there is anything inspiring to take a picture of.  :)

What are your random thoughts?

And the Sun Peeks Through...

It actually has been sunny and warm here lately(even though as I write this it is gently raining outside...again...ugh.).  Today was warm and breezy.  A wonderful combination.  :)

These are pictures I took a little while ago.  I was practicing taking pictures of puddles, a great thing to brush up on right now...can you tell?

I shall end on that note.  I need to take more pictures!  :)
Have a great weekend,
