Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! 

 I haven't posted on here in quite a while!!  I was VERY busy for a little while this early fall and so un-capable of taking any pictures.  :(  But life has returned to a somewhat normal state and I have started taking pictures again.  Sadly I was unable to host a Fall Challenge.  :(  Maybe next year....

Here are a few that I have taken recently that came out fairly good:

This is a skipper moth that has actually 

gotten stuck in the spider web of the leaf.  If only that moth wern't 

there I think the picture would be perfect!  I love the sun's position!!

Just the colors in this are warm and inviting! However I'm afraid taking pictures of leaves on the ground is not one of my stronger talents.... ;)

A Walk in the Woods - 2

:D  I forgot some good ones.  :)

Snails.  This is one of my favorite shots. :) 

These are the little trails that all the snails make.  

Trees.  There are so many lines in this picture.

We went on a nature walk with my grandparents.  We walked to a little creek that was really pretty.  It gave lots of "scope for the imagination". :) 

This black snake was found sunning itself.  :) He was quite happy to pose for me.

Isn't this pretty?  There's so much to look at here.  The bottom of the creek, the sun, and the reflection.

Neat water ripples.

The sun coming down on moss.  This was such a cool shot I had to share it, even though it's a little blury.

I found that I liked to take pictures of berries.  So I'll warn you.... you may see alot more berry pictures in your future.  :)  I was worried that they didn't "say" Fall enough.   Then I thought a bit more about the all wild birds that I see eating them right now.  Surely they are gathered by all animals in the Fall time.  That made me feel a bit better.

:) Two again.....  I love the first one and how near the outside of the tree the leaves were dark red but as you looked inside they became bight yellow.  My brother tells my this is because of the amount of sunlight the leaves get.  It might be true.... I've never really researched leaves before.

So how about a little fun?  :)  Sadly.... there's no prize..... or judging.  :(  BUT!!!  It is a good challenge I think!  Here's what you need to know!!

The Challenge:

To post a picture that says fall each day.  You can post more than one picture or only one.  It can be wordless or not.  

How to enter:

Anyone can enter!!  Leave a comment at the bottom of this post saying that you'd like to be in the challenge.   Then each day when I do my fall post comment at the bottom of that post with a link to your blog.  At the end of the challenge I'll post a list of all the bloggers( or photographer's ; ) that stayed faithful and did at least one picture a day. 

Tell everyone!!!  If you have any questions about this challenge then please ask!!!  I may have forgot a detail or two....

Outside my window...


It's BEAUTIFUL!!!  A nice fall-ish temperature.  We have the windows open so a wonderfully cool breeze comes through.  And it looks like we will have a pretty sunset tonight.  It will get chillier through this week and next.  And our highs are only supposed to be in the 70's!!!!!!  Ah!!!  At last cool weather!!

I'm Listening to...

The wind chimes blowing in the wind.  Such a pleasing sound.  And also our large dogs barking at who knows what.  :)

I can't wait for...

Spiced tea!!!  A fall tradition around here.  I also can't wait for leaves to be falling so we can rake them up and jump in them!!  :D  Such fun!

I would love to say more but I must go help make dinner.  :)  Maybe a longer post later this week?  :)
   

Hints of Fall

Unlike other seasons, around here fall comes slowly.  So it's really neat to find all the little hints here and there.  I took a walk to see what I could find.

This grasshopper is actually as long as my finger.... which I measured.....  about 3 in. !!!!

Weeds  (ah hem) flower-blooming-plants-that-make-you-sneeze.  

A tiny bit of red in the trees!  

If you look closely you can see the back end of a bee, that has borrowed himself head first into this morning glory.  

Not very pretty... but I liked the angle!  :) 

Do you remember the Queen Annes Lace that I took pictures of earlier this year in this post...  here's what they look like now.
