A New Lens...

I have been enjoying a lovely summer!  True, the temperatures have been sweltering, but it has only made any rain that we receive all the more refreshing!!
I have also enjoyed my NEW CAMERA!!!!  All the pictures in this post are taken with a Canon Rebel that I bought from my friend.  :)

This is a Potato Blossom.

A Pumpkin blossom.

The first Pumpkin of the year!

Another Pumpkin blossom... this picture came out neat... it sorta looks like the flower is "glowing".

Have a nice weekend!

Hints of Fall

Unlike other seasons, around here fall comes slowly.  So it's really neat to find all the little hints here and there.  I took a walk to see what I could find.

This grasshopper is actually as long as my finger.... which I measured.....  about 3 in. !!!!

Weeds  (ah hem) flower-blooming-plants-that-make-you-sneeze.

A tiny bit of red in the trees!

If you look closely you can see the back end of a bee, that has borrowed himself head first into this morning glory.

Not very pretty... but I liked the angle!  :)

Do you remember the Queen Annes Lace that I took pictures of earlier this year in this post...  here's what they look like now.

Our Butterfly bush.
Hope you enjoyed!  Maybe soon we'll have some more fall signs.  :)

A Wonderful Find

You'll never guess how we came across this beauty!  It's an Orb-Weaver and we have seen them before around here.  She was happily positioned on her web waiting for a juicy meal(luckily she took no interest in my camera!!!).    If there is any creature in the insect world that really has true beauty - it's the Orb-Weaver.

Hopefully I'll have a "signs of fall" post for everyone soon!

A storm coming

This was actually taken quite a while ago.  There were some storms coming this day and I had been meaning to take a picture of the rose.... so I just combined the two!!!  :D  I like how it came out.  But it's kinda blurry because it was already so windy!

I haven't posted here in a while because I seem to have (misplaced) my camera cord......  BUT!  I found it!  So (hopefully) I'll be posting here more!  :)

Alright

So Animals won in my poll.  This we'll infact be difuculct, as I'm leaving for New Hampshire tomorrow for an entire week.  So don't think I'm slacking on my plans.  :D  The week I get back(starting on the 25th)  I'll take pictures all week in preparation.  Then from the 31st to the 6th I will post a few pictures a day...... possibly wordless.  I'm not sure if I want to do wordless or not.  I haven't decided yet.

The Camera I Use

Suprised, my dear reader?  Were you in-visioning a large, bulky, black, expensive looking piece of equipment with straps and cases?   :)
This is the camera I use for my photography work.  It is a "Kodak EasyShare C613"  Sure it's modest and simple, but it works for me.  It was a Christmas present about 4 years ago.

The feature that I use the most is the "Close Up" setting.  It's for objects closer than 28 inches.  Sometimes it dosen't work and sometimes it does.  What I've found is that to get the best focus you have to experiment focusing at different distances away from the object and then just "crop" it later.

It has many other different options for what your snapping. I do not use all of them.  Here are just a few:
Landscape, Snow, Beach, Fireworks, Text, Night Portrait, Museum, Self Portrait, Children, Sport, etc.

It's video setting is good.  The only thing that I don't like about it is that when you try and view the video that you've just taken on the camera it doesn't have sound.  I'm not sure if that's because I just haven't figured out how to turn it on or there really is no sound.  :(  I just have to wait until I load it on the computer, THEN it has sound.

I looked on Amazon and right now there are 7 used and 8 new in case anyone is interested.
